Akina Worli is bringing the vibrant flavours and cultural spirit of Mexico to Mumbai with a special International Tequila Day celebration in collaboration with the Consulate General of Mexico and Don Julio Tequila.

Running from 17th to 24th July 2026, the week-long experience invites guests to discover the craftsmanship of premium tequila through specially curated cocktails, Mexican-inspired cuisine, and a celebration of cultural exchange.

The highlight of the celebration is a selection of four signature Don Julio tequila cocktails crafted by Head Mixologist Sonam Rai. Designed to showcase the unique character of Don Julio’s premium expressions, the cocktail menu features Don Julio Paloma, Spicy Margarita, Don Julio Picante, and Don Julio 1942 Tequila Signature Serve.

Each creation brings together bold flavours, refined techniques, and Akina Worli’s contemporary approach to mixology, offering guests a unique exploration of tequila through modern interpretations.

Complementing the cocktail experience, Chef Ganesh Pandit has curated a special menu inspired by the vibrant flavours of Mexico while blending seamlessly with Akina’s contemporary Asian culinary philosophy.

The menu features creations including Guacamole with Golden Fried Corn, Banana Plantain & Nori Crackers, Truffle Edamame Hummus with Raw Mango Salsa, Burnt Avocado & Tender Coconut Ceviche, Scallops Ceviche with Miso Yuzu Dressing, and King Prawns with Steam Buns.

As part of the celebration, Akina Worli will host an exclusive invite-only dinner on 24th July, bringing together members of the community, media, industry leaders, and invited guests for an evening celebrating Mexican heritage through exceptional cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and cultural storytelling.

The collaboration with the Consulate General of Mexico reflects a shared commitment to showcasing authentic Mexican traditions and cultural influences. The Consulate has supported the initiative through cultural guidance, connections with Mexican culinary experts, communication support, and engagement with its diplomatic network.

The celebration has been developed in consultation with the Consulate to ensure authenticity and alignment with Mexican cultural values.
