Chef Hari Nayak is returning to Baraabaru at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa from November 2 to 8, 2026, for a week-long culinary residency showcasing his contemporary interpretation of Indian cuisine.
The residency will take place at Baraabaru, the resort's award-winning Indian restaurant, bringing together the depth of India's culinary traditions, modern cooking techniques and the fresh flavours of the region.
Chef Nayak will reunite with Kishan Singh, Head Chef at Baraabaru, to present a specially curated menu that reinterprets familiar Indian flavours through distinctive ingredients and contemporary presentations.
Baraabaru has previously been recognised by CNN Travel, featuring among its Top 10 Maldives' Finest Tables in 2022. The restaurant provides the setting for the returning chef to showcase his approach to Indian cuisine in the Maldives' luxury dining landscape.
The menu features several signature preparations, including Daab Chingri, which pairs prawns with tender coconut and ground mustard, bringing together seafood and traditional Indian flavours.
Cashew Cod is served with a fermented rice crêpe, red chilli and curry leaf, combining seafood with contrasting textures and regional flavour notes. The menu also includes Shiso Chaat, featuring tamarind, yoghurt and chaat masala, offering a contemporary interpretation of a familiar Indian street-food favourite.
Another highlight is Chicken Barta, which combines roasted chicken with tomatoes and cashews. Together, the dishes reflect the residency's focus on reimagining Indian culinary traditions while retaining the familiar flavours and ingredients that define the cuisine.
The collaboration between Chef Nayak and Chef Singh brings together their culinary perspectives for a limited-time dining experience at Baraabaru. The week-long residency offers guests an opportunity to explore Indian cuisine through a menu designed specifically for the restaurant's setting.
With Chef Nayak's return, Baraabaru continues to showcase Indian cuisine through curated culinary experiences, bringing together established traditions and contemporary interpretations within the resort's luxury hospitality offering.
