Courtyard by Marriott Madurai is bringing the warmth and grandeur of a traditional South Indian wedding to the brunch table with 'Namma Veetu Kalyanam Brunch', a wedding-themed culinary experience at Madurai Kitchen on September 20 and 27, 2026.
Designed around the nostalgia and abundance of a traditional veetu kalyanam, the brunch aims to transform Sunday dining into a celebration inspired by the sights, flavours and togetherness associated with Tamil weddings.
The experience draws from the familiar charm of a kalyana virundhu, where elaborate meals become an important part of the celebration and guests gather around the table over generous servings, conversations and family traditions.
Namma Veetu Kalyanam Brunch brings this atmosphere into a contemporary hotel setting, combining traditional aesthetics with a festive dining experience. Elements inspired by South Indian wedding culture, including silk sarees and jasmine garlands, contribute to the visual character of the celebration.
The culinary spread takes inspiration from the generous spirit of traditional wedding feasts, with an emphasis on the abundance and variety associated with a South Indian celebration. The experience is designed to evoke the feeling of a family wedding where food, hospitality and togetherness remain at the heart of the occasion.
Beyond the food, the brunch focuses on recreating the warmth and joyful atmosphere of a traditional Tamil wedding. The concept brings together familiar cultural cues and celebratory dining, offering families and friends an opportunity to spend a Sunday together in a setting inspired by the nostalgia of a veetu kalyanam.
Hosted at Madurai Kitchen, the experience is positioned as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional South Indian wedding feast, retaining its emphasis on food, family and celebration.
