Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai is set to present the Pathare Prabhu Food Festival, a celebration of Mumbai’s rich culinary heritage. From 21st to 31st March 2025, guests can experience the bold and vibrant flavours of Pathare Prabhu cuisine, curated by renowned culinary expert Chef Bimba Nayak.
Originating from one of Mumbai’s oldest communities, Pathare Prabhu cuisine is known for its blend of coastal Maharashtrian, Gujarati, and Kathiawari influences. Guests can savour a variety of seafood and vegetarian dishes featuring unique combinations and quick cooking techniques.
“During this unique food festival, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a meticulously curated menu showcasing some of the most iconic dishes from the Pathare Prabhu culinary repertoire,” said Subhabrata Roy, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai.
Seafood lovers can enjoy specialties such as Chutneycha Saranga, Bombil Cutlets, Bharleli Chimbori, Tajlatyle Mutton Sukhe, and Kolambi Chi Khichdi, while vegetarian dishes include Pineapple Sambhare, Bhende Vatane Bhaji, Konfal Butterwalya, and Wadiche Bhujne.
Chef Bimba Nayak, with over five decades of experience, has been a key figure in reviving this 700-year-old cuisine. “I am thrilled to showcase the flavours of my community to the guests at Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai,” she said. “Pathare Prabhu cuisine is a hidden gem, and I look forward to sharing its vibrant flavours and rich history with all the food lovers.”
Chef Avinash Nalawade, Executive Sous Chef at Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai, joins the festival with his extensive expertise in Indian and international cuisines. His leadership ensures that guests enjoy an authentic and memorable dining experience.
The Pathare Prabhu Food Festival promises a rare opportunity to explore a lesser-known yet integral part of Mumbai’s food culture. Guests can look forward to a dining experience filled with heritage recipes and traditional cooking techniques passed down through generations.
