C-Salt at Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa has started the India chapter of “The Spice Route Chronicles – A Journey Across the Ancient Maritime Spice Route,” a six-month culinary expedition exploring the flavours and traditions connected to the historic spice trade. The September edition, “India – Origins of the Spice Trail,” takes guests on a journey through India’s rich spice heritage, with flavours inspired by the Malabar Coast.

The experience brings India’s role in the ancient spice trade to life through a selection of regional dishes that showcase the country’s diverse culinary traditions. Guests can enjoy Meen Moilee, Chettinad Chicken, Alleppey Fish Curry, Pepper Lamb Fry, Dum Biryani, and Appam & Stew, highlighting the distinctive use of spices across India’s coastal and inland cuisines.

Beyond the food, the experience also gives diners an opportunity to explore the world of spices through live spice grinding, a traditional welcome drink, and an interactive spice education table. These experiences allow guests to learn more about the origins, aromas and culinary significance of some of India’s most treasured spices.

The India edition of The Spice Route Chronicles will be available at C-Salt, Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa, from 16th September to 30th September 2026, between 6:30 PM and 11:00 PM. The experience is available through an à la carte menu, making it an opportunity for guests to discover India’s spice heritage through a selection of regional flavours.
