DOU has introduced ‘Rustica’, a specially curated Spanish food festival that invites guests to explore the rich coastal and inland culinary traditions of Spain through rustic flavours, shared dining experiences, and timeless recipes.

Available at DOU Alwarpet and Nungambakkam in Chennai until July 31, 2026, Rustica celebrates the warmth of Spanish homes and traditional taverns, bringing together the spirit of communal dining and the joy of gathering around the table.

The festival draws inspiration from sobremesa, the cherished Spanish tradition of extending conversations and connections long after a meal has ended. Beyond just a food experience, Rustica aims to recreate the social and cultural essence of Spanish dining, where food becomes a celebration of togetherness.

The specially curated menu features an array of Spanish classics designed for sharing. Guests can savour Gambas al Ajillo, featuring succulent prawns cooked in fragrant garlic-infused olive oil; Basque-style Txuleta, a grilled steak representing Spain’s renowned grilling traditions; and Crema Catalana, a traditional dessert offering a rich and memorable conclusion to the meal.

Alongside tapas and pinchos, Rustica encourages guests to enjoy generous shared platters, creating a dining experience centred around conversations, connection, and discovery.

Complementing the food menu is a selection of Spanish-inspired non-alcoholic beverages, including Grape Tepache, Zero Proof White Wine Sangria, and Zero Proof Red Wine Sangria, crafted to enhance the flavours of the festival while capturing the vibrant spirit of Spanish celebrations.

With rustic earthenware, warm hospitality, bold flavours, and dishes created for sharing, Rustica brings the essence of Spain’s dining culture to Chennai, celebrating both culinary heritage and the simple pleasure of enjoying food together.
