Fairfield by Marriott Mumbai Andheri West is bringing the flavours of Parsi home kitchens to the city with “Jamva Chalo Ji,” a curated Parsi culinary experience at Pana, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant.
Running from 14th to 23rd August, the festival will showcase Parsi home-style cuisine through recipes and cooking techniques that have been passed down through generations.
The experience will be led by Chef Daugdo Ragina, a specialist in Parsi home style cuisine known for keeping the traditional flavours and methods of Parsi household cooking alive. Instead of adapting the dishes for a typical restaurant menu, the festival focuses on preparations that stay close to their home-style roots, with slow cooking, generous use of spices and recipes that are often closely held within families.
Guests can explore several Parsi favourites during the festival, including Dhansak, known for its blend of lentils and spices, and Patra Ni Machhi, traditionally steamed in a banana leaf. The menu will also highlight the sweet and tart flavours that are an important part of Parsi cooking.
For those familiar with Parsi food, the experience offers a taste of nostalgia, while first-time diners can discover a cuisine that is not always easy to find in everyday dining spaces.
The name “Jamva Chalo Ji” loosely translates to “Come, Let's Eat” and is traditionally used to invite guests to the table during Parsi gatherings. The dinner spread will be available throughout the ten-day festival from 14th to 23rd August, starting at 7 PM onwards.
For a more relaxed weekend experience, Fairfield by Marriott Mumbai Andheri West will also host special Parsi brunches on 16th and 23rd August, beginning at 12:30 PM onwards.
By bringing in a specialist known for Parsi home-style cuisine, the festival aims to offer more than a themed menu. It gives diners an opportunity to experience the flavours, recipes and traditions associated with Parsi household cooking in the heart of Andheri West. The festival is open to walk-ins and reservations at Pana, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant.
