Welcomhotel Bengaluru invites guests to embark on a regal culinary journey with “The Sultanate Trail,” a specially curated dinner buffet hosted at WelcomCafe Jacaranda. The experience runs from 12th to 19th June, offering diners an immersive exploration of the rich gastronomic legacy associated with Tipu Sultan and the regions linked to his historical reign.
Inspired by the culinary traditions of Devanahalli, Bengaluru, Srirangapatna, Mysore, and Wayanad, the festival brings together a thoughtfully designed menu that blends Karnataka’s royal kitchens with Kerala’s spice-driven coastal influences. The concept reflects a deep dive into regional history through food, where every dish is crafted to represent a cultural and geographical story.
The experience begins with Sherbet-e-Sultani, a refreshing drink infused with tender coconut water, sandalwood, and rose petals. The menu then unfolds with a selection of richly inspired dishes such as Sultani Chops, Sultani Gosht Boti, Grand Sher-e-Mysore Poulet Roast, Mysore Tiger Prawn Bhuna, Srirangapatna Machi Lasooni Bhuna, Sultan Bateri Meen Polichadu, and Devanahalli Mirchi Murgh Handi.
The culinary journey continues with a dessert selection rooted in heritage flavours, including Lehsun Ki Kheer, Adrakhi Anjeer Ki Launz, Jheele-Firdauz, and Shahi Dum Ka Halwa, offering a balance of traditional richness and historical inspiration.
Speaking about the festival, Chef Amruth Chakravarthy, Executive Chef, Welcomhotel Bengaluru, highlighted that The Sultanate Trail is designed to bring together regional ingredients, age-old recipes, and historical influences to recreate a dining experience rooted in the legacy of the Sultanate era.
Through this initiative, Welcomhotel Bengaluru aims to offer guests more than a dining experience, presenting instead a curated cultural narrative where history, heritage, and gastronomy come together on a single plate.
