Overview

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is set to host one of Eastern India’s most significant tourism and hospitality gatherings as the Hospitality and Tourism Conclave takes place in Siliguri on January 16 and 17, 2026, at ITC Fortune. The conclave comes at a time when the eastern region is witnessing accelerated growth in tourism, backed by better connectivity, a stronger domestic travel base and growing interest from hotel brands, developers and entrepreneurs.

With over 500 delegates expected to attend, the two-day event will bring together national industry leaders, hospitality exhibitors, investors and key stakeholders. The conclave aims to offer Eastern India a unified platform as the region’s presence on the national tourism map continues to grow steadily.

The programme is designed to reflect the evolving structure of the hospitality business. Discussions will focus on the future of tourism in the East, emerging hospitality formats such as villas, hostels and hybrid assets, and the importance of owner and brand alignment. Sessions will also cover direct booking strategies, revenue management, and the growing role of technology, OTAs and artificial intelligence in shaping guest experience and operational efficiency.

Additional conversations will explore branding and marketing, design-led commercial outcomes, the rise of strong regional hospitality brands from Eastern India, and the scaling of food and beverage businesses. Curated networking sessions will allow participants to connect meaningfully, with the conclave concluding with an awards and gala evening.

The event takes place against the backdrop of rising hotel development activity across North Bengal, Sikkim and the Eastern Himalayan belt. Improved airport infrastructure, enhanced highway connectivity and year-round travel demand have positioned the region as one of India’s most promising tourism corridors. Through this conclave, ICC aims to encourage collaboration among owners, operators, investors and policy stakeholders to ensure long-term and sustainable growth.

The Hospitality and Tourism Conclave 2026 is presented by MakeMyTrip and powered by Yanolja Cloud Solution, with support from leading hospitality, travel, technology and destination partners. The strong line-up of sponsors reflects growing industry confidence in Eastern India’s tourism and hospitality potential.

Commenting on the initiative, Sumit Mitruka, Chairman, ICC Hospitality and Tourism Committee, said, “Eastern India is at a very important stage in its tourism journey. There is rising demand for nature-driven, wellness-oriented and design-focused travel. Opportunities for owners, brands and entrepreneurs are expanding rapidly. This conclave is meant to bring all stakeholders together so the region can move forward with a shared vision. The East deserves stronger national attention, and this forum aims to accelerate that shift.”

The conclave is being supported by Harsh Berlia, Chairman, ICC North Bengal, and Gopal Dalmia, Vice Chairman, ICC North Bengal, both of whom have played a key role in strengthening the region’s business and tourism ecosystem. ICC has invited stakeholders from across the hospitality and tourism value chain to participate in the two-day event in Siliguri.
