Overview

Mumbai-based experience-first cocktail bar Idoru is heading east for a one-night guest shift at Yokocho, Kolkata, bringing its Japanese-influenced cocktails and contemporary bar food to the city on October 7, 2026.

The guest shift will bring together Idoru's cocktail and culinary teams with Yokocho's Asian street-food-inspired bar format. Chef Nirav Gadre will present six Idoru signature plates, while Khanimwon Ramrar, Bartender, and Neel Rathod, Assistant Bartender, will take over the bar with five cocktails from Idoru's programme.

The collaboration brings together two distinct approaches to Asian-inspired food and drink. Idoru draws on Japanese technique, flavours and precision while maintaining a playful approach to cocktails and food. Yokocho, described as an Eastern Bar & BBQ, takes inspiration from the streets and back alleys of Asia, bringing together charcoal cooking, casual plates, drinks and communal dining.

Five Cocktails from Idoru

Idoru's cocktail programme was shaped by research and training in Tokyo, where the team explored Japanese approaches to dilution, temperature, ice management, workflow and balance.

The Kolkata guest shift will feature five drinks from the programme.

Enmi offers a savoury interpretation of the Japanese highball, combining homemade lemon gin and shio-koji with lemon, cinnamon and bubbles.

Karami combines yuzu kosho-infused mezcal with pomelo, lime, tonic and shichimi pepper, bringing together citrus and spice in a highball format.

To Odoroki brings together Laphroaig and shochu with mango, honey, mint and ginger, resulting in a smoky, layered serve.

Ikura Opera combines Roku Gin with wasabi, cucumber, yoghurt, cream, milk, lemon and honey, served with salmon roe.

The selection is rounded out by Milkmaid, a combination of Wild Turkey, passionfruit, white chocolate and lemon juice.

Six Plates from Chef Nirav Gadre

The food menu brings six Idoru signatures to Yokocho.

Cauliflower pairs crisp florets with ranch, chermoula and party mix, while Idoru 'Pizza' combines tomato and stracciatella with kizami wasabi, finger lime and garlic chips.

Udon features roasted shiitake miso, kombu salt and crispy vegetables. The Bourdain Sando brings pork mortadella, provolone and mustard together in a kaiser bun.

The 'Overload' Maki takes a more expansive approach, combining chutoro, akami, salmon, hamachi and crabmeat in a single roll.

Completing the selection is the Mini Don, featuring sticky rice, smoked chicken, shiso and onsen tamago.

Mumbai Meets Kolkata

The guest shift creates a one-night exchange between Idoru's Japanese-influenced cocktail and culinary programme and Yokocho's interpretation of Asian street-side dining.

For Idoru, the Kolkata visit extends its food and beverage programme beyond Mumbai, while Yokocho provides a setting rooted in the casual, communal culture of Asian alleyways and street food destinations.
