The Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Government and Sangeet Natak Akademi, are set to host a grand classical music festival, Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam. This cultural event, scheduled from December 10 to 12, 2023, will take place on the banks of the River Krishna in Vijayawada.

Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam aims to celebrate and preserve India’s rich cultural heritage. The festival will feature an array of concerts, with active participation from students of music colleges across Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states. Alongside music, the festival will showcase regional cuisine, local handicrafts, and handlooms, promoting the region's spiritual, heritage, and eco-destinations.

Focused on reviving traditional art forms like Harikatha and Namasankeerthana, the festival is designed to create an immersive experience for attendees, celebrating classical music's timeless beauty. As a prelude, six venues across Bobilli, Rajahmundry, Lepakshi, Movva, Nellore, and Kurnool hosted concerts on November 27, featuring renowned musicians.

This event is part of a broader initiative to enhance cultural tourism in India. It aligns with efforts by the Punjab government to focus on heritage, adventure, and culinary tourism, including the revamping of their eco-tourism and culture policy.

Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam is more than a music festival; it's a confluence of tradition, talent, and heritage, inviting visitors from across the country to experience the splendor of classical music in a scenic and historic setting.
