To mark World Chocolate Day, La Patisserie at Taj Coromandel, Chennai, is hosting La Chocolaterie, a two-week celebration dedicated to the craft of fine chocolates. Running from 7th to 21st July, the special showcase transforms the hotel's popular cake shop and delicatessen into a boutique-style chocolate destination inspired by renowned European chocolateries.

The festival celebrates the journey of cacao through a collection of handcrafted chocolates, premium desserts, signature hot chocolates, and thoughtfully curated gifting options.

One of the key highlights is Le Mur de Chocolat, featuring an elegant display of handcrafted pralines and bonbons made using premium ingredients. Guests can enjoy creations such as the Madagascar 64% Bonbon, Hazelnut Rochers, Salted Caramel Squares, and Almond Sea Salt Clusters with Java Milk Chocolate. The artisanal chocolates are also available in beautifully packed silk-ribboned gift boxes, making them ideal for gifting.

The celebration also introduces Chocolate Couture, an exclusive collection of pastries and cakes created especially for the occasion. The menu includes the Flourless Marquise with Caramel, 72% Grand Cru Tart with Candied Orange, Jivara Milk Chocolate Éclair with Gold Leaf, Black Forest Verrine, and the Signature Sacher Slice. These desserts are designed to pair perfectly with La Patisserie's premium teas and coffees.

Adding to the experience is Le Chocolat Chaud, where guests can enjoy rich hot chocolate served tableside in elegant porcelain pots. The selection includes the Classic Parisian, Aztec Spiced with cinnamon and chilli, and White Chocolate Rose, each served with house-made vanilla bean marshmallows and citrus madeleines.

The venue has also been transformed with cocoa and ivory-inspired décor, accompanied by soft piano music to create a relaxed atmosphere. Guests can take part in the Chocolate Passport experience by collecting stamps while sampling pralines, desserts, and hot chocolates. A dedicated gifting corner also offers beautifully packaged praline collections and signature drinking chocolate bombs to take home.
