Overview

Mayfair Spring Valley Resort successfully hosted the two-day BRICS Heads of Anti-Drug Agencies Meeting in Guwahati, welcoming Heads of Anti-Drug Agencies and senior officials from all 11 BRICS member nations under India's BRICS Presidency. Organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on July 6 and 7, 2026, the high-level meeting focused on strengthening international cooperation to combat drug trafficking and organised crime while highlighting Guwahati's growing stature as a destination for global policy engagements.

As the official host resort, Mayfair Spring Valley Resort provided accommodation, hospitality, and event support for the visiting international delegates, ensuring a seamless experience throughout the two-day programme.

The meeting served as a platform for BRICS member nations to strengthen collaboration in addressing evolving drug-related challenges. Discussions focused on enhancing intelligence sharing for faster information exchange, improving operational coordination across borders, strengthening the capacity of anti-drug agencies, addressing the growing threat of synthetic drugs and new psychoactive substances (NPS), preventing the misuse of precursor chemicals used in illicit drug production, combating darknet-enabled drug trafficking, and leveraging digital technologies to strengthen enforcement efforts.

The successful conclusion of the meeting further reinforced Guwahati's emergence as a destination for international conferences and strategic policy dialogue. Hosting an event of this scale required world-class infrastructure, operational efficiency, and seamless hospitality.

Set amidst lush greenery, Mayfair Spring Valley Resort hosted the official sessions and international delegation, leveraging its expansive event venues, 260 rooms, cottages and villas, along with dedicated guest services. The successful execution of the engagement reflects the resort's capability to host large-scale government and diplomatic events while showcasing the warmth and hospitality of Northeast India.

Commenting on the occasion, Pardeep Siwach, General Manager, Mayfair Spring Valley Resort, said, "Hosting an international engagement of this significance goes far beyond providing a venue.
