Mynt, the all-day dining restaurant at Vivanta Chennai IT Expressway, is inviting guests to experience the flavours of the Indian Ocean with 'Island Spice Trail', a limited-period culinary festival inspired by the cuisines of Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Running until July 26, 2026, the festival showcases the distinct culinary traditions of the neighbouring island nations. While Sri Lankan cuisine is known for its rich use of coconut milk, curry leaves, cinnamon and aromatic spices, Maldivian cuisine highlights fresh seafood, coconut and locally sourced ingredients with lighter coastal flavours.
The specially curated menu begins with a selection of soups, including Mulligatawny Chicken Soup, Garudhiya (a traditional Maldivian tuna soup), Roasted Pumpkin Coconut Soup, and Thambung Hodi, a spiced Sri Lankan lentil soup.
Vegetarian starters feature dishes such as Polos Cutlet, Breadfruit & Telulifai Cutlet, Roshi Rolls, and the classic Parippu Vadai, while seafood and meat lovers can enjoy Fish Cutlets, Geri Riah, Batter Fried Spiced Tuna, and the signature Sri Lankan Devilled Chicken.
The main course brings together a variety of island favourites, including Mushroom and Cashew Curry, Polos Ambula, Island Chilli Potatoes, and Pumpkin & Eggplant Riha. Non-vegetarian highlights include Kukulu Musamma, Kandu Kukulu (Maldivian tuna curry), Mutton Black Curry, Negambu Prawn Curry, and Sri Lankan Chicken Stew.
Guests can pair these dishes with accompaniments such as Brown Rice, Limbo Bai, Idiyappam, Appam, Roshi, and the traditional Mashuni salad.
The culinary journey concludes with a selection of traditional desserts, including Watalappam, Sago Pudding, Kiru Bokiba, and the crispy Kokkis, offering an authentic taste of island-style sweets.
Whether exploring global cuisines or looking for a unique dining experience, Island Spice Trail offers guests an opportunity to savour the rich and diverse flavours of Sri Lanka and the Maldives in Chennai.
Venue: Mynt, Vivanta Chennai IT Expressway.
Date: Until July 26, 2026.
Timings: Lunch and Dinner (Weekends) | Dinner Only (Weekdays).
