Vijayawada’s dining scene is getting a fresh Malaysian touch as Novotel Vijayawada Varun brings the city’s first Malaysian Seafood & Vegetarian Boil Festival to Red Bowl from 18 to 27 September 2026.
Designed as an interactive and social dining experience, the festival invites guests to roll up their sleeves, put on aprons and gloves, and enjoy generous bucket-style servings made for sharing. The menu combines fresh seafood, hearty vegetables, Malaysian-inspired spices and bold sauces.
Guests can choose between Seafood Boil and Vegetarian Boil buckets, with each option served alongside rice and a choice of three sauces, Malaysian Sambal, Nyonya Spicy & Sour, and Butter Garlic Sauce. The Seafood Boil brings together mud crab, tiger prawns, calamari, baby octopus, clams, lobster, corn on the cob and more. The ingredients are tossed with Malaysian-inspired spices and served in a generous bucket format designed for sharing.
For vegetarian diners, the Vegetarian Boil features king oyster mushrooms, palm hearts, tofu, baby red potatoes, bok choy, corn, broccoli and seasonal vegetables, offering a hearty alternative packed with flavour.
"Guests in Vijayawada can now experience a Malaysian-style seafood boil at Novotel Vijayawada Varun. We wanted to bring something interactive and social to the table, where guests can gather, share and enjoy a generous spread together. With both seafood and vegetarian options, there is something for everyone to savour and enjoy. We look forward to welcoming guests to Red Bowl to discover the flavours of Malaysia" said Manish Pathak, Hotel Manager, Novotel Vijayawada Varun.
The festival takes inspiration from Malaysia’s multicultural food culture, where Malay, Chinese and Indian influences come together through fresh ingredients, aromatic spices and bold flavours. For Vijayawada’s growing dining community, the experience offers a different way to explore Malaysian cuisine while enjoying the fun of sharing a meal together.
