Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach is set to bring the royal flavours of Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam with the Nizami Food Festival at Zaffran, its Indian specialty restaurant, from 14 to 23 August 2026.
The limited-period culinary festival will showcase signature Hyderabadi dishes alongside live cooking stations, Ghazal performances and heritage-inspired décor, offering diners an immersive experience centred around the rich culinary traditions of the Nizams.
Inspired by the royal kitchens of Hyderabad, the specially curated menu highlights the influence of Persian, Turkish, Mughlai and Telugu culinary traditions on the region's cuisine. Guests can savour popular specialities including Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, Haleem, Marag, Pathar Ka Gosht, Nihari, Double Ka Meetha, Qubani Ka Meetha, Sheer Khurma and Irani Chai.
The festival is designed to go beyond a conventional food promotion, combining cuisine with elements of Hyderabad's cultural heritage. Live cooking stations will allow guests to experience the preparation of select dishes, while soulful Ghazal performances and royal-inspired décor will add to the atmosphere.
Speaking about the festival, Lakshmi Sridhar, General Manager, Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach, said, “Food has a wonderful way of bringing people closer to culture and tradition. Through the Nizami Food Festival, we are delighted to celebrate Hyderabad's rich culinary legacy and offer our guests an authentic dining experience that is both memorable and immersive.”
Saurav Choudhuri, Executive Chef, Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach, added, “Every dish has been thoughtfully prepared to honour the authenticity of Nizami cuisine while staying true to the recipes that have been cherished for generations. From robust curries to indulgent desserts, the menu has been crafted to showcase the richness, balance and elegance that define this royal culinary tradition.”
With its beachfront location and a menu featuring some of Hyderabad's most recognised culinary specialities, the festival offers diners in Visakhapatnam an opportunity to explore the flavours and traditions of Nizami cuisine within the city.
