Sayaji Kolhapur is bringing back the flavours and traditions of the Aakhad region with the Aakhad 5.0 Food Festival at Blue Lotus, Kolhapur, from 3rd to 12th August 2026.

Now in its fifth edition, the festival celebrates the region’s rich culinary heritage through traditional Aakhadi dishes, local culture and community. The dinner-time celebration comes ahead of the festive season of Shrawan, Ganpati, and Navratri, giving guests an opportunity to enjoy the region’s food traditions in a festive setting.

The specially curated menu brings together some of the region’s popular specialities, including Mutton Sukka, Kala Mutton, Chicken Lonche, Mutton Lonche, along with the much-loved Tambra and Pandhra Rassa. Together, the dishes highlight the bold and distinctive flavours associated with Aakhadi cuisine.

The festival also brings the region’s culture into the dining experience. The décor takes inspiration from local monuments, traditional glass paintings and regional artefacts. Adding to the setting, the hotel’s staff will be dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire, including kurta and dhoti, while a Maharashtrian-themed musical backdrop will create a more immersive experience. The festival brings together food enthusiasts, chefs, artisans and local producers in a celebration of the region’s culinary roots.
