Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel set the tone for the holiday season with its lively Merry Mix-Mas celebration, bringing guests together for a warm and cheerful start to Christmas preparations. The hotel hosted its annual Cake Mixing Ceremony, a tradition that everyone looks forward to each year, blending festive fun with a touch of nostalgia.
The ceremony is a classic Christmas ritual that goes back centuries, celebrated for the way it brings people together. Guests joined in to mix dried fruits, nuts, and spices soaked in rum and wine, ingredients that will slowly mature before being baked into rich Christmas cakes. The idea behind the ceremony is simple yet meaningful: start the season by sharing joy, blessings, and a sense of togetherness.
The hotel turned into a cosy winter-themed setting, with guests arriving in vibrant reds and sparkly outfits that added to the festive spirit. People happily dipped their hands into bowls filled with rum-soaked raisins, wine-coated cashews, and colourful mixes, creating memories to carry through the season. Kids also had their moment of joy at a special alcohol-free station, where they eagerly mixed dried fruits, nuts, and bright fruit juices, making the activity fun and inclusive for everyone.
“The beauty of this tradition is that it brings everyone together - from our youngest guests in Santa hats and aprons to families creating memories that will last a lifetime,” said Subhankar Bose, General Manager, Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel.
A fun highlight of the afternoon was the grape stomping activity, giving guests a chance to try their hand or rather, their feet at the traditional winemaking experience.
Along with all the festive action, guests enjoyed a delicious spread from the hotel’s in-house bakery. Warm donuts, fresh cakes, and pastries paired wonderfully with flowing chocolate fountains and winter strawberries. Classic favourites like pizzas and dal pakwaans added a comforting touch, ensuring that every guest found something they loved.
“The cake mixing is one of our most joyful traditions, it brings guests together through food, laughter, and festive spirit,” said Satya Kumar, Executive Chef, Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel. “It’s a wonderful way to start the holiday season on a sweet note.”
Carol singing and cheerful music added to the atmosphere as hotel associates joined guests on the floor, dancing, singing, and enjoying the moment. The mix of music, laughter, and festive excitement made the celebration feel warm, genuine, and full of holiday charm.
