Sian, the contemporary Southeast Asian restaurant at Vivanta Chennai, IT Expressway, is inviting guests to experience the vibrant tastes of Thailand with its special food festival, 'Flavours of Thailand – A Mini Culinary Journey of Thailand'. Running until July 5, 2026, the festival celebrates Thailand's rich culinary traditions through authentic recipes and bold flavours inspired by its bustling streets, coastal kitchens and royal dining culture.
Known for its perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, spicy and lemony flavours, Thai cuisine offers a unique dining experience. At Sian, the specially curated menu has been crafted by the hotel's culinary team led by Executive Chef Jaffar Ali, bringing together a range of traditional dishes that showcase the depth of Thai cooking.
Guests can begin their meal with comforting soups such as the iconic Tom Yum Goong, the creamy coconut-based Tom Kha Gai, and vegetarian favourites including Gaeng Om and Glass Vermicelli Soup. The appetiser selection features popular Thai classics like Som Tam, Poh Pia Tod, freshly steamed Dim Sums, Chicken Satay with peanut sauce, Tod Mun Pla and the traditional Chicken Thung Thong, also known as Thai money bags.
The main course offers an array of flavour-packed curries, stir-fried dishes and noodle specialities. Diners can savour dishes such as Massaman veg Curry, Pad Pak Mamuang, Chicken Pad Kra Pao, Kung Prik Thai, Phad Thai, Pad Woon Sen, Spicy Pineapple Fried Rice and fragrant Jasmine Rice, each reflecting the authentic flavours of Thailand.
To complete the meal, guests can enjoy classic Thai desserts including Khao Niew Mamuang (mango sticky rice), Tub Tim Grob, made with diced Water chestnut and coconut milk, and soaked Rambutan served with ice cream.
Adding to the experience is a live dim sum counter serving freshly prepared delicacies, while welcome drinks such as Thai Iced Tea and Lemongrass Cooler greet guests on arrival. The restaurant has also been transformed with lantern-lit décor, bamboo accents, street-market-inspired elements and soothing Thai instrumental music to create an immersive dining atmosphere.
Whether you are a long-time fan of Thai cuisine or trying it for the first time, Sian at Vivanta Chennai, IT Expressway promises an authentic culinary experience filled with the vibrant flavours of Thailand.
