Sofitel Mumbai BKC is inviting guests to experience the authentic flavours of Maharashtra's coastline with Taste of Malvan, a special food festival at Pondichéry Café. Running from 31 July to 9 August 2026, the ten-day culinary celebration is led by Executive Chef Vividh Patil, who brings the recipes and traditions of his hometown of Malvan to the table.

Unlike festival menus inspired by regional cuisine, this one is deeply personal. Chef Patil, who hails from Malvan, has curated the menu using the flavours and cooking styles he grew up with, bringing family recipes and local traditions to the hotel's kitchen.

The festival highlights the essence of Malvani cuisine, known for its fresh seafood, coconut, kokum, and bold spice blends. Guests can look forward to dishes featuring pomfret, prawns, and other coastal favourites, prepared with traditional ingredients that define the region's distinctive taste. The menu celebrates simple, authentic cooking that stays true to its roots.

Sharing the inspiration behind the festival, Executive Chef Vividh Patil said:

"Malvani food is not something I learned in a kitchen, it's something I grew up eating, at home, before I ever wore a chef's coat. This festival brings that food here, exactly as I remember it. No shortcuts, no adjusting it for anyone. Just Malvan, the way my mother and my Aaji made it."

The festival offers an opportunity for guests familiar with Malvani cuisine as well as first-time diners to explore the region's rich culinary heritage in an authentic setting.

A special Malvani Sunday Brunch will be hosted on 9 August 2026, adding another highlight to the festival.
