Sofitel Mumbai BKC is bringing the rich culinary heritage of Rajasthan to Mumbai with The Maharaj Legacy, a specially curated dining experience at Tuskers that celebrates the state's timeless vegetarian traditions through authentic recipes, regional influences, and generations of culinary craftsmanship.
Scheduled from June 21 to June 30, 2026, the showcase brings together Maharaj Pratapgiri Swami, Vegetarian Speciality Maharaj at Tuskers, and Maharaj Mahendra Singh Chundawat, Sous Chef at Fairmont Udaipur Palace. Drawing from deep-rooted connections to Rajasthan’s villages, royal kitchens, and culinary customs, the duo aims to offer guests a rare opportunity to experience the state's rich vegetarian legacy.
Built around the theme “When Heritage Travels,” the experience goes beyond a conventional food festival. Guests will explore recipes inspired by the regions of Mewar, Marwar, Pali, and Banswara, each reflecting local ingredients, cultural influences, and time-honoured cooking techniques that have been preserved across generations.
Maharaj Pratapgiri Swami brings decades of expertise in traditional temple-style and regional Rajasthani cuisine, while Maharaj Mahendra Singh Chundawat draws inspiration from his roots in Banswara and his experience across leading hospitality destinations. The collaboration is further enriched by the culinary philosophy of Zaikaa, Fairmont Udaipur Palace’s acclaimed Mewari dining experience that focuses on preserving indigenous recipes and regional traditions.
The specially curated menus feature some of Rajasthan’s most iconic vegetarian dishes, including Dal Baati Churma, Ker Sangri, Bajri Ki Raab, Gatte Ki Saag, Khoba Roti, and Malpua with Rabri. Together, these dishes offer a journey through the diverse culinary landscapes of Rajasthan.
Speaking about the initiative, Maharaj Pratapgiri Swami highlighted the deep connection between Rajasthani cuisine, culture, rituals, and family traditions, while Maharaj Mahendra Singh Chundawat described the recipes as reflections of home and heritage.
Commenting on the collaboration, Executive Chef Vividh Patil noted that the experience reflects Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s commitment to creating meaningful gastronomic experiences that celebrate culture through food and storytelling.
By bringing together two custodians of Rajasthan’s culinary traditions, The Maharaj Legacy offers diners an immersive exploration of recipes, ingredients, and traditions that continue to preserve cultural memory and inspire future generations.
