Sofitel Mumbai BKC is inviting guests to explore the authentic flavours of Maharashtra's Konkan coast with Taste of Malvan, a special culinary festival at Pondichéry Café from 31 July to 9 August 2026.

The 10-day festival celebrates the rich culinary traditions of Malvan through recipes curated by Executive Chef Vividh Patil, who hails from the coastal town. Drawing from his personal memories and family recipes, Chef Patil brings the authentic taste of his hometown to the table.

Known for its bold coastal flavours, Malvani cuisine is centred around fresh seafood, coconut, kokum and aromatic spices. Guests can look forward to dishes featuring pomfret, prawns and traditional curries, prepared using authentic techniques and ingredients that reflect the region's culinary heritage.

Sharing the inspiration behind the festival, Vividh Patil, Executive Chef, Sofitel Mumbai BKC, said:

"Malvani food is not something I learned in a kitchen, it's something I grew up eating, at home, before I ever wore a chef's coat. This festival brings that food here, exactly as I remember it. No shortcuts, no adjusting it for anyone. Just Malvan, the way my mother and my Aaji made it."
