Taj Agra is set to celebrate India’s 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026 with a day-long programme bringing together guests and associates to mark the occasion with national pride, unity and the spirit of India.

The celebrations will begin at 9:00 AM at the Main Porch with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by the Managing Director & Cluster General Manager (MD & CGM) of Taj Agra. This will be followed by an Independence Day parade by the hotel’s Security Team and the distribution of sweets among guests and associates.

The patriotic celebrations will continue throughout the hotel with special guest experiences, music and culinary offerings. Following the morning ceremony, guests can enjoy a special Hi Tea at the Tea Lounge, while guests staying at the hotel will receive special turndown amenities.

Guests arriving at the hotel will also be welcomed with a tricolour welcome drink. At Palato, tricolour-themed mocktails and desserts will add to the Independence Day mood, while patriotic music will be played across Infini- The Sky Lounge, Daawat-e-Nawab and the hotel's public areas.

Food will be an important part of the celebrations at Palato, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant. A specially curated tricolour buffet will bring together Indian delicacies inspired by the country's rich culinary traditions.

The menu will celebrate India's diverse flavours while bringing in the colours of the national flag through a selection of dishes, beverages and desserts. Regional favourites and signature Indian delicacies will also feature as part of the Independence Day spread.

Speaking about the culinary offerings, Chef Palash Ghosh, Executive Chef, Taj Agra, said, “Indian cuisine reflects the incredible diversity of our country, making Independence Day a fitting occasion to celebrate its many flavours and traditions. The lunch buffet at Palato will be available from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, priced at INR 1,999 plus taxes per person. The dinner buffet will be served from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM, priced at INR 2,199 plus taxes per person.
