Southern India’s rich and diverse culinary heritage takes centre stage at The Leela Gandhinagar as the hotel presents “A Journey Through the Tastes of Deccan” at Citrus Junction from 11th to 21st June 2026.
The festival brings together the distinct flavours of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, offering guests a curated exploration of regional cuisines that reflect the depth and variety of Southern Indian food culture.
As part of the experience, two chefs from Southern India will be specially invited to showcase traditional recipes and techniques, adding authenticity and regional depth to the culinary presentation.
Guests can expect a wide spread of classic offerings including freshly prepared dosas, appams, regional curries, rice delicacies, traditional snacks, and desserts. The experience will also feature an authentic brass filter coffee service, enhancing the cultural essence of the festival.
Live cooking stations will add an interactive dimension, allowing guests to experience dishes prepared to order while engaging with the aromas and textures that define Southern Indian cuisine.
Speaking about the festival, Vikas Sood, General Manager, The Leela Gandhinagar, said, “Southern Indian cuisine represents one of the most diverse and celebrated expressions of India’s culinary heritage. Through this festival, we hope to offer guests an opportunity to experience the distinctive flavours, traditions, and regional influences that continue to make these cuisines so widely cherished.”
