Step into the grandeur of history and heritage as The Leela Gandhinagar presents the Royal Maratha Food Festival, an immersive culinary celebration paying tribute to the diverse flavours of the Maratha Empire. From rustic warrior feasts to opulent royal spreads, the festival captures the essence of 17th and 18th-century Maratha gastronomy.

Held at Diya Restaurant from 14th to 23rd June 2025, the festival brings alive the traditions of the Maratha dynasties through carefully curated heirloom recipes, vibrant Maratha décor, and cultural performances that echo the pride of a powerful era.

The culinary experience is helmed by Guest Chef Sonal Mahurkar, a proud descendant of the Naik Nimbalkar dynasty of Western Maharashtra. Representing the royal lineage of Wather, a region once part of the princely state of Phaltan, Chef Sonal brings with her time-honoured recipes that have been passed down through generations.

Set in the refined ambiance of Diya, known for its authentic Indian cuisine, the festival promises an evening steeped in nostalgia, tradition, and bold flavours that narrate the story of Maratha resilience and royalty.
