The New Punjab Club, Anna Nagar, Chennai, is set to transport diners to the heart of Punjab with The Amritsar Food Festival, a limited-period culinary celebration running from 16th January to 25th January 2026. The festival offers an immersive exploration of Amritsar’s rich food heritage, showcasing bold flavours, comforting classics, and time-honoured recipes that reflect the city’s generous culinary spirit.
More than just a city, Amritsar is a culinary institution shaped by centuries of Sikh heritage, the inclusive ethos of the Golden Temple’s langar, and the vibrant energy of local markets such as Karari Chowk. Drawing inspiration from these traditions, the festival captures the essence of Amritsari cuisine, rooted in abundance, authenticity, and warmth.
The specially curated menu features an array of small plates inspired by iconic street food favourites. Highlights include Teen Mirch ka Paneer Tikka, Karari Chowk ki Tikki with Choley, Beera Bhatti Chicken, and Makhan Fish Tikka, each reflecting the robust flavours and lively character of Amritsar’s streets.
The culinary journey continues with hearty large plates that celebrate traditional Punjabi home-style cooking. Guests can enjoy classics such as Sarson ka Saag with Makki Ki Roti, Palak Paneer with Red Chilli Paratha, Amritsari Kulche with Choley, Tawa Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan, Special Rarha Mutton with Red Chilli Parantha, and Tawa Nutri Kulcha, all prepared to honour authentic flavours and comforting textures.
Desserts form a grand finale to the experience, featuring a refreshing Kesar Pista Lassi topped with peda crumble. The highlight of the festival is the signature Karah Treat, inspired by the iconic cast-iron karah used in the Golden Temple langar kitchens. This special dish pays homage to Amritsar’s sacred culinary traditions while presenting them with a contemporary touch.
Hosted at The New Punjab Club, Anna Nagar, Chennai, The Amritsar Food Festival reinforces the restaurant’s commitment to culinary authenticity and meaningful dining experiences. Through evocative flavours and storytelling, the festival stands as a tribute to Amritsar’s enduring food legacy and the warmth that defines Punjabi hospitality.
