Mumbai’s cocktail scene is set for a major global moment as Late Checkout prepares to host an exclusive two-night takeover by London’s Tayēr + Elementary, ranked #5 on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025. The takeover will take place on February 11 and 12, marking one of the most significant international bar collaborations in the city this year.

Known for consistently bringing acclaimed global bar concepts to India, Late Checkout has built a reputation as Mumbai’s go-to destination for progressive cocktail experiences. This February, the Lower Parel bar will welcome Tayēr + Elementary, a name that has come to define modern cocktail culture worldwide.

Co-founded by renowned bartenders Monica Berg and Alex Kratena, Tayēr + Elementary is celebrated for its ingredient-led minimalism, experimental techniques, and ever-evolving approach to drinks. Located in East London, the bar has influenced cocktail programmes across leading global cities, setting new benchmarks for innovation and craftsmanship.

At Late Checkout, the takeover will recreate Tayēr + Elementary’s distinctive dual-format experience. Guests can expect the casual, draught-driven energy of Elementary paired with the hyper-seasonal, produce-focused precision of Tayēr. The showcase promises an immersive cocktail journey that blends innovation, technical mastery, and storytelling, offering Mumbai patrons rare access to one of the world’s most influential bar programmes.

Late Checkout itself is Chrome Hospitality’s tenth venture and is housed within a restored 50-year-old textile mill in Lower Parel. With its industrial-meets-modern design, soaring ceilings, and cocktail-forward philosophy, the venue has quickly emerged as one of India’s most exciting contemporary bars.
