In a momentous stride into a new era of inflight fashion, Air India reveals its latest cabin and cockpit crew uniforms, masterfully crafted by renowned Indian couturier Manish Malhotra. These chic ensembles are set to make their debut with the launch of Air India's first Airbus A350 into commercial service.

Manish Malhotra's Mumbai atelier has given birth to a collection that seamlessly blends an array of colors and timeless designs, representing a unique fusion of India's rich heritage with 21st-century style, elegance, and comfort. Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director of Air India, expresses confidence that Malhotra's innovative designs will script an exciting chapter for the airline's future, embodying the essence of their new identity and commitment to global aviation standards.

For female cabin crew members, the uniforms feature a ready-to-wear ombré saree with intricate patterns inspired by Indian heritage architecture and the Vista, Air India's new logo icon. Paired with a comfortable blouse and blazer, this ensemble epitomizes the blend of traditional and modern elements.

The cockpit crew's uniform boasts a classic black double-breasted suit with a print inspired by the Vista, symbolizing professionalism, timelessness, and the gravity of the flying profession. The color palette, including deep red, burgundy, aubergine, and accents of gold, pays homage to India's cultural richness.

The uniforms are more than a visual spectacle; they represent a departure from traditional airline attire. Modern cuts and tailoring add style and practicality for the crew. The designs were developed in close collaboration with Air India's cabin crew members and the In-flight Services team, ensuring functionality and appeal.

"I am honored to have been given the opportunity to design the uniforms for Air India. It is a privilege to contribute to the national flag-bearer and showcase the elegance and charm of Indian fashion," says Manish Malhotra. His aim was to create outfits that capture India's diverse culture and traditions while embodying a modern and sophisticated look.

As Air India steps into the limelight with its new Airbus A350, these uniforms serve as more than attire; they are a statement defining the best of Indian heritage and hospitality. Travelers globally will instantly recognize and appreciate the embodiment of the new Air India.

This fashion-forward transformation extends beyond the cabin and cockpit, with ground staff, engineers, and security personnel also set to unveil their Manish Malhotra-designed uniforms in the coming months. The entire collection, a blend of style, functionality, and cultural homage, stands as a testament to Air India's commitment to modernization and a new global brand identity.

The Department of Tourism in Bhutan has unveiled a new initiative called the Druk Neykor programme, designed to enrich the travel experience by guiding visitors through 108 sacred sites and monuments across the enchanting Himalayan kingdom. Aimed at travellers looking to dive deep into Bhutan’s spiritual essence and cultural heritage, the programme promises an immersive exploration unlike any other.

Starting in the capital city, Thimphu, the Druk Neykor programme features tours to 16 standout sites, such as the revered Wangditse Lhakhang, Tshelung Ney, and Talangkha Drugyel Goenpa. These sites are not just about spirituality; they also offer a chance to enjoy Bhutan’s stunning natural landscapes, whether you’re reaching them by road or through scenic hikes. Plus, with a range of accommodations from hotels to campsites, comfort is guaranteed for every traveller.

What sets Druk Neykor apart is its innovative passport system. As you visit each site, you collect stamps in your Druk Neykor passport, each one telling a story of Bhutan’s spiritual journey and cultural immersion. This tangible record of your travels is not only a personal memento but also a gateway to learning more about each site through QR codes that offer detailed histories and stories.

The programme is accessible through authorised Bhutanese Tour Operators, but adventurous souls can also explore these sites independently. From the iconic Tiger's Nest monastery perched on a cliff to the serene Dochula Pass, each stamp collected is a step deeper into Bhutan’s spiritual heart.
