Diageo India, a leading player in the alcoholic beverage industry, is taking a significant step towards promoting inclusion and diversity through its 'Learning for Life' program. In partnership with the Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD), Diageo India is expanding this initiative to train 100 individuals with disabilities, equipping them with the skills needed for roles in the Business and Hospitality sector.

The residential training program spans three months and is hosted at SCPwD-affiliated training centers across India. Certified trainers and assessors from SCPwD will conduct the training, focusing on enhancing productivity and bridging skill gaps. This comprehensive approach ensures that students acquire essential skills, making them valuable contributors to the workforce.

Mr. Jagbir Singh Sidhu, Corporate Relations Director at Diageo India, emphasized the company's commitment to fostering a diverse and vibrant workforce. By extending the successful 'Learning for Life' program to individuals with disabilities, Diageo India aims to remove employment barriers and provide equal access to resources and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The first batch of 100 students includes individuals with locomotor disabilities, speech impairments, and hearing impairments. To facilitate effective learning, the program includes specialized learning modules and assisted technologies. Sign language instructors are also part of the program, ensuring that all students can access and benefit from the training.

Diageo India's initiative aligns with its commitment to championing Inclusion and Diversity, a core component of Diageo's Society 2030: Spirit of Progress goals. By providing specialized training to individuals with disabilities, the company contributes to creating a more inclusive society and workforce.

Through partnerships like this one with SCPwD, Diageo India is not only investing in individuals but also in the future of a diverse and inclusive workforce. This program sets a precedent for others to follow, opening doors for many more to access education, gain skills, and secure employment opportunities.

In essence, Diageo India's 'Learning for Life' program is making a positive impact, empowering individuals with disabilities to overcome employment barriers and contribute to society's progress. It's a commendable initiative that highlights the importance of inclusive practices in the business world.
