Even President Joe Biden criticized hotels for their hidden fees and misleading pricing tactics, which include omitting mandatory "resort fees" from advertised rates.
In contrast to these trends, Hilton is embracing a more guest-centric approach. The chain is introducing improvements that reflect a commitment to customer satisfaction. Recognizing the importance of cleanliness, Hilton is implementing changes to its housekeeping practices, towel quality, and room features.
One significant change revolves around housekeeping. Hilton is addressing both full-service and limited-service properties. Full-service Hiltons will offer daily housekeeping, while limited-service properties will provide guests with the option to choose their cleaning schedule, enhancing flexibility and guest control.
Towel quality has been a topic of concern for guests, and Hilton is addressing this by introducing a new towel program. Using innovative technology, these towels will become plusher through washing, offering a more luxurious feel. Additionally, they are designed to have a longer lifespan, contributing to cost savings for hotel operators.
Hilton is also taking steps to modernize its room offerings. By the end of 2024, the chain aims to ensure all its brands and hotels globally have accessible bedside power outlets and night lighting. The initiative aims to improve convenience and enhance guest comfort.
These changes underscore Hilton's commitment to guest satisfaction and experience. As travelers' expectations evolve, Hilton's forward-looking approach aims to meet those changing needs. By 2025, The Machan will introduce five new properties in strategic locations across India, including Jaisalmer, Udaipur, and Jawai in Rajasthan, as well as Mulshi and Pawna near Lonavala in Maharashtra. Girish Menon, Head of Business Development, emphasized the importance of the Indian market for The Machan's growth strategy. "India represents a significant market for both business and leisure travelers, and establishing a strong presence here is a key objective for us. Our goal is to double our footprint by 2025, expanding our presence across Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III cities," he stated.
