Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has taken a significant step in expanding its footprint by announcing a new Taj branded hotel in Dehradun, marking its third property in the city. This development aligns with IHCL's strategy to strengthen its presence in key commercial and leisure destinations across India.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development at IHCL, highlighted the importance of this venture. "Dehradun's dynamic mix of tourism, education, and growing industries makes it a key location for us. Our partnership with La Roche Hotels & Resorts is a testament to our commitment to expanding in such promising destinations," she said.
The new Taj hotel, a brownfield project, will feature 215 keys and boasts a strategic location off Rajpur Road, connecting Dehradun to the popular hill station of Mussoorie. Its proximity to commercial hubs and tourist attractions enhances its appeal for both business and leisure travelers.
Guests can look forward to a variety of amenities, including an all-day diner, a specialty restaurant, a bar, and a lobby lounge. The hotel will also offer over 8,000 sq. ft. of banquet space, meeting rooms, and a pre-function area, catering to diverse events and meetings.
The hotel is designed to provide a complete leisure experience with facilities like a spa, a swimming pool, and a fitness center, ensuring guests enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Amarjeet Singh Juneja and Parvinder Preet Singh, partners at La Roche Hotels & Resorts, expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration. "Partnering with IHCL to bring the prestigious Taj brand to Dehradun is an exciting step for us. The Taj is renowned and respected, and we're thrilled to be a part of this venture."
Dehradun, the state capital of Uttarakhand, is known for its scenic beauty and serves as a gateway to the Himalayan tourist destinations and the char-dham pilgrim circuit. With this addition, IHCL will have a total of ten hotels in Uttarakhand, including five under development, encompassing the Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger brands.
