The Indian School of Hospitality (ISH) and ICEX Spain Trade and Investment have joined hands to elevate hospitality education and celebrate the art of gastronomy. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), both institutions aim to collaborate and explore opportunities in hospitality education, cultural exchange, and gastronomy, demonstrating their dedication to excellence and innovation.
ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, operating under the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Trade, is known for promoting Spanish businesses and culture globally. With their Economic and Commercial Office in New Delhi, ICEX takes the lead in gastronomic diplomacy, showcasing Spain's rich culinary diversity and heritage.
The partnership between ISH and ICEX opens up exciting possibilities in various areas:
Hospitality Education: ISH and ICEX will develop programs that offer immersive experiences in Spanish gastronomy, including tastings and presentations of Spanish pantry products.
Training Programs: Specialized educational programs will be designed to provide in-depth knowledge and skills in Spanish gastronomy, wines, and food history to ISH faculty and students.
Dissemination of ICEX Programs: ISH will actively promote ICEX programs and initiatives among its alumni, creating a bridge for hospitality professionals to access the opportunities offered by ICEX.
Culinary Experiences: The Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi will collaborate with ISH to incorporate Indian culinary expertise into events, blending Indian and Spanish cultures.
Future Collaborations: ISH and ICEX are committed to expanding their collaborative efforts in hospitality and gastronomical education, seeking new avenues for partnership.
This partnership will enrich the curriculum at ISH, providing students and faculty with exposure to global best practices in hospitality and culinary arts. It will foster cultural exchange between India and Spain and drive cross-border trade and investment in the hospitality and gastronomic sector. Furthermore, ISH alumni will benefit from increased access to international opportunities through ICEX's extensive network.
Kunal Vasudeva, Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer of the Indian School of Hospitality, described the partnership as a fusion of cultures and an academic renaissance. He emphasized the significance of empowering Indian students with a blend of heritage and global acumen, reshaping hospitality education by bridging traditions and innovation.
Lucía Paternina Torme, Chief Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi highlighted the transformative journey this partnership represents and the ambition to establish a solid and fruitful relationship with ISH, turning students into ambassadors of Spanish gastronomy.
The strategic partnership between ISH and ICEX signifies a milestone in education, culture, and culinary arts, creating a platform for mutual growth and collaboration.
