Kenyan President William Ruto declared a significant change in the country's travel policies, announcing that starting January 2024, visitors from around the world will no longer need a visa to enter Kenya. This move positions Kenya as the fourth African nation to eliminate visa requirements, joining the ranks of the Gambia, Benin, and Seychelles.

President Ruto emphasized the government's commitment to simplifying travel processes by introducing a digital platform. This platform ensures that all visitors receive electronic travel authorization in advance, eliminating the need for traditional visa applications.

The president, advocating for borderless travel within Africa, highlighted the barriers created by visa requirements and high airfares, especially for African passport holders. This change aligns with Kenya's vision of fostering continental integration and supporting the African Continental Free Trade Area.

Kenya's tourism industry, a crucial driver of its economy, stands to benefit from this policy shift. President Ruto expressed the nation's welcoming stance, stating, "Kenya has a simple message to humanity: Welcome Home!"

This strategic move follows the successful launches of similar visa-free initiatives in Bangalore and Mumbai, marking Kenya's third experience center in the past two years. The LIXIL Experience Center, situated near Aerocity in Delhi, aims to revolutionize the consumer journey in luxury bathroom design. The center provides a hands-on experience for customers to explore combinations, textures, and styles, aligning with LIXIL's mission of making better homes a reality for everyone, everywhere.

The center's inauguration marks a significant step in expanding LIXIL's footprint, creating immersive spaces that offer memorable and insightful experiences for architects, designers, builders, and consumers. With a commitment to design, innovation, and technology, LIXIL plans to continue delighting patrons with more experiential spaces across the country.

Visitors to Kenya can look forward to a seamless and visa-free entry, making it easier for global travelers to explore the diverse offerings of this East African nation. The removal of visa barriers reflects Kenya's dedication to fostering international connections and boosting its tourism sector.

As Kenya opens its doors to the world, President Ruto envisions a future where travel is not hindered by borders, enabling the free flow of goods, services, people, and ideas across the continent. This move aligns with the African Union's efforts to encourage more African countries to eliminate travel barriers, supporting the vision of a united and integrated Africa.

Kenya's decision to scrap visas for global visitors signifies a bold step toward promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and connectivity. As the country embraces a visa-free regime, it sends a powerful message of welcome and openness to the global community, inviting travelers to experience the beauty and hospitality of Kenya without bureaucratic hurdles.

Air Canada has increased the frequency of its Delhi–Toronto flights, making the service double daily to meet the rising demand for travel between India and North America.

The move comes at a time when airlines operating between the Middle East and North America are facing capacity challenges. The ongoing Israel-Iran conflict has resulted in the closure of several airspaces across the Middle East, leading to widespread disruption. Many airlines have been forced to cancel or delay flights to the region and on routes that pass through it.

To respond to the growing demand, Canada’s flag carrier is now operating two flights a day between Delhi and Toronto until the end of April. The enhanced schedule is aimed at supporting Indian travellers planning trips to North America during this period.

Under the current schedule, one flight departs from Delhi at 21:45 and arrives in Toronto at 05:00 the following day. The return service leaves Toronto at 19:55 and lands in Delhi at 20:10 the next day.

Travellers looking for more details on schedules and service updates can visit Air Canada’s official website for the latest information on flights between India and Canada.
