Mumbai's culinary landscape has just been enriched with the opening of Megumi, a luxury Japanese-Pan Asian restobar located in the bustling neighborhood of Bandra. This 6000 sq.ft. dining haven is the brainchild of hospitality icon Mr. Raj Shetty, founder and chairman of Ramee Hospitality, and promises an unforgettable experience for food lovers and those seeking new and exciting dining options.
Megumi is more than just a restaurant; it's a fusion of Japanese Nikkei resto-bar culture and philosophy, offering a unique dining experience that marries the delicate art of Japanese cuisine with ultra-fine-dining flavors. The restaurant's interior, inspired by Brazilian bamboo-weaving culture and designed by Minal Chopra, provides a warm and welcoming ambiance, complemented by modern Japanese cuisine and drinks.
At the helm of Megumi's culinary journey is Chef Raman Udas, an alumnus of the prestigious Zuma in Dubai, where he honed his skills under Chef Reif Othman. Chef Udas brings his expertise and creativity to Megumi, crafting a menu that perfectly aligns with Japanese philosophies and showcases the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, many of which are locally sourced.
The menu at Megumi is a testament to the fusion of cultures, featuring traditional sushi with a twist, innovative ceviches, and a selection of Nikkei cuisine that promises to delight the palate. Highlights include the inventive TOPPOGI, the sumptuous LOBSTER ROLL, the delectable CORN ON COB, and the flavorful TEBASAKI WINGS. The restaurant also features a live sushi bar, offering an array of exotic seafood options, and a diverse menu that caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests.
Megumi's cocktail program is an expression of Japanese philosophy, with signature drinks like Wabi Sabi and Kintsugi, each served in a 'kintsungi' glass that embodies the tradition of fixing broken glass with gold. The 'Indie-Asian' section of the menu, featuring ingredients from the Seven Sisters of Northeast India, is a nod to the region's rich culinary heritage.
Rajit V Shetty, MD at Ramee Hospitality, expresses his ambition for Megumi, aiming to elevate every aspect of the dining experience, from service to food quality. "Experience a pinnacle of culinary excellence as we proudly unveil Megumi in the heart of Mumbai. Our fusion of Japanese tradition and contemporary innovation promises an unparalleled blessing in dining experience."
Megumi invites residents and visitors to Bandra to embark on a culinary adventure that transcends borders, blending tradition with innovation in a way that only Megumi can.
Address: 9th floor, Ramee Emerald II, Linking Rd, above Nike Showroom, Vithaldas Nagar, Santacruz West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400054
About Megumi: Located in the heart of Bandra, Mumbai, Megumi offers a sophisticated Japanese menu with a Nikkei soul, dedicated to delivering an unparalleled dining experience where culinary innovation meets cultural fusion.
