Bangalore Airport Hotel Limited (BAHL), a subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), has initiated the process of selecting contractors for the construction of a 775-room hotel at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), as reported by The Hindu.

The call for expressions of interest from experienced contractors signals progress towards the realization of this ambitious project, nearly three years after its initial announcement. The hotel, featuring both Vivanta and Ginger brands, aims to cater to the growing demand for accommodation and event spaces within the airport premises.

In June 2021, the Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) partnered with Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) to establish the 775-room hotel, comprising a 450-room Vivanta and a 325-room Ginger hotel. Positioned strategically near the forthcoming concert arena, these hotels will offer extensive banqueting facilities to accommodate Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) events.

Anticipated to open its doors in 2025, the new hotel underscores IHCL's commitment to expanding its footprint in Bangalore's hospitality sector. Currently, IHCL operates Taj Bangalore with 370 rooms, located in close proximity to Terminal-1 of KIA. With the addition of the proposed hotel, the combined inventory on the airport premises is set to reach 1,145 rooms.

The invitation for contractors marks a significant milestone in the development of this landmark project, promising enhanced accommodation and event facilities for travelers and visitors alike. Stay tuned as Bangalore's hospitality landscape continues to evolve with this exciting new venture!
