The Spanish Tourist Office UK has unveiled its latest campaign, ‘Spain for All,’ dedicated to making travel in Spain more accessible and inclusive. Launched on December 6, this initiative marks a significant step in Spain’s efforts to create a more inclusive tourism environment. The campaign focuses on developing strategies and infrastructures that cater to the diverse needs of tourists, reinforcing Spain’s long-standing commitment to accessibility in the tourism sector.

Central to ‘Spain for All’ is the formation of an advisory panel designed to gather feedback on accessibility challenges and opportunities. This panel will play a crucial role in understanding and addressing the needs of all tourists, ensuring that the travel experience in Spain is enjoyable for everyone. By engaging directly with stakeholders and communities, the campaign aims to foster a collective effort to improve the tourism experience for all visitors.

To gain a deeper understanding of tourists' needs, the Spanish Tourist Office will conduct consumer surveys and organise panel discussions. These initiatives will enable the tourist office to directly connect with potential tourists, assess their expectations, and identify key areas for enhancement in accessibility and inclusivity.

Complementing these efforts, a content campaign will showcase Spain’s dedication to inclusive tourism. The campaign will disseminate information about Spain’s accessible destinations and inspire confidence among travelers to explore the country. The goal is to promote a tourism model that ensures geographic and economic sustainability, spreading the benefits of tourism across Spain all year round.

Manuel Butler, Director of the Spanish Tourist Office UK, emphasises the campaign’s aim to create a socially inclusive tourism model. This model seeks to distribute tourism's economic and social benefits throughout Spain, ensuring sustainability 365 days a year.

Spain’s focus on accessible tourism is not new; it has been a key aspect of national policy for over 40 years. Cities like Burgos and Bilbao are exemplary in terms of inclusive infrastructure, while major cities like Madrid and Barcelona have significantly improved public transport accessibility.

The ‘Spain is Accessible’ website exemplifies Spain’s commitment to inclusivity. This platform offers resources for tourists to customise their travel experiences based on their specific needs, providing information on accessible attractions and destinations.

The ‘Spain for All’ campaign is a testament to Spain’s resolve to evolve its tourism sector into a more inclusive and accessible domain. This initiative is a part of Spain’s broader commitment to sustainable and socially responsible tourism, aiming to set new benchmarks for inclusive travel globally.
