SpiceJet, India's popular budget airline, is gearing up to connect the historic city of Ayodhya with Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. Starting from 1 February 2024, these direct flights will be a reality, adding more travel options for passengers. The airline is set to deploy its spacious 189-seater Boeing 737 aircraft for these routes, ensuring a comfortable journey.

This move follows closely on the heels of SpiceJet's announcement last week about a special flight from Delhi to Ayodhya on 21 January 2024. This was in line with the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony scheduled for the following day, with a return flight on the same day.

The recent inauguration of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has opened new avenues for the airline. SpiceJet is keen on expanding its services from Ayodhya to various cities across India, signalling a strategic move to strengthen its network.

Shilpa Bhatia, the Chief Commercial Officer at SpiceJet, expressed the airline's dedication to improving connectivity. "These new flights are in sync with our commitment to enhance connectivity and offer convenient travel options to our passengers. We are looking forward to connecting more Indian cities with Ayodhya, providing non-stop flights for a seamless and comfortable travel experience," she stated.

In a significant announcement, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed that about 100 chartered flights are expected at the Ayodhya airport for the consecration ceremony on 22 January.

SpiceJet isn't stopping there. The airline has also announced plans to start new flights connecting Mumbai with Srinagar, Chennai with Jaipur, and Bengaluru with Varanasi, all set to commence on 1 February.

The launch of these flights marks a significant milestone in SpiceJet's journey, promising to boost tourism and business travel while offering more choices and convenience to passengers.
