Transwestern Hospitality Group (THG) has marked a significant milestone in the luxury hospitality sector with its acquisition of the prestigious Hotel Granduca in Houston, Texas. This 122-key property, nestled on three and a half acres at 1080 Uptown Park Boulevard, is poised for a transformative journey under THG's stewardship.
Facilitated by THG partners Tyler Lavin and Thomas Duncan, and supported by Transwestern’s investment team, this acquisition paves the way for an extensive repositioning project. The ambitious plan, set to begin in mid-2024, aims to infuse new life into the hotel’s design, guest experience, amenities, and culinary offerings.
Renowned for its placemaking prowess, THG will collaborate with Ring on Hook, specialists in hospitality renovations and venue activations. This partnership, complemented by contributions from other industry consultants, promises to redefine luxury hospitality in Houston.
Leading the design revolution is Kara Childress, appointed as the chief interior designer for the hotel's upgrade. Their vision will transform the ground floor into a bustling social hub, housing a destination restaurant and expanding event spaces. The hotel's evolution will also encompass new workout facilities and curated programming, enhancing the overall guest experience.
THG has entrusted Westmont Hospitality Group with managing hotel operations post-renovation. This strategic decision underscores THG's commitment to excellence and innovation in hospitality management. Transwestern chairman Robert Duncan expressed gratitude for the opportunity to elevate the Granduca experience. He also acknowledged the continued involvement of Giorgio Borlenghi, the hotel's original developer, as a stakeholder and consultant in the project.
THG's acquisition and upcoming renovation of Hotel Granduca not only symbolize a new chapter for the property but also reflect the group's dedication to delivering unparalleled luxury experiences to Houston's residents and visitors.
