Homegrown luxury hospitality brand jüSTa Hotels & Resorts is all set to unveil its first wildlife resort in Corbett on October 19, 2023. Marking the company’s 22nd hotel in India, it’s also the third property in Uttarakhand, following Mukteshwar and Rishikesh. This boutique resort, known as jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett, is located in Kyari, a small hamlet surrounded by forests, and offers an exciting venture into the world of wildlife hospitality.
Founder & CEO of jüSTa Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Ashish Vohra, shared an interesting vision for their business. They aim to create itinerary-based experiences for guests that allow them to explore key destinations in a region within a span of 7-10 days. This property in Corbett aligns perfectly with their expansion plans in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. They believe this region holds significant tourism potential, and similar circuits are in the works for Kerala and Himachal Pradesh.
One key factor that sets jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett apart is its serene location. Away from the bustling areas of the Jim Corbett National Park, this property offers guests a unique jungle experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in forest bathing. It’s situated in Kyari, just 6 kilometers away from the state highway, accessible via a scenic village road. The Bijrani Zone of the Jim Corbett National Park is conveniently located 9.5 kilometers from the resort, while the Sitavani Zone is 8 kilometers away.
Spread over 1.1 acres of land, nearly half of which is lush green, jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett is located just 200 meters from a river stream. The resort offers 24 rooms in two categories: Superior Room with Balcony and Deluxe Room with Balcony. Other amenities include a swimming pool with a kids' pool, a 48-seat multi-cuisine restaurant, and a spa. To enrich the wildlife experience, there's an in-house naturalist who can provide insights into the region's flora and fauna.
The resort is committed to sustainability and eco-friendliness. They recycle grey and black water separately, compost organic waste for garden use, and use white roofs for passive cooling. Recycled bamboo insulation, held in place by locally woven mats, ensures energy efficiency. These mats, adorned with traditional Garhwali baskets, also serve as decorative lighting throughout the resort. Even the spa, which offers breathtaking forest views, has been constructed using recycled materials.
While the Jim Corbett National Park attracts wildlife enthusiasts from across the country, the resort also arranges safaris in the National Park. For those who wish to explore further, visits to other major tourist attractions in the region can be arranged. These include the Jim Corbett Museum in Dhangarhi, Corbett Falls, Garjiya Temple, Hanuman Dham Temple, and Barati Rau Waterfalls, all within a 30-kilometer radius from the property.
jüSTa Hotels & Resorts is taking a step into the realm of wildlife resorts with jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett, providing a unique and eco-conscious experience in the heart of Corbett, Uttarakhand. With an emphasis on sustainability and a vision for creating memorable tourist circuits, this new venture is poised to redefine the wildlife resort experience in India.
