Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABDL) steps into the premium gin market with the launch of Zoya Special Batch Gin, marking its debut in the luxury spirits segment. This move aligns with ABD's strategy to focus on high-margin brands for future success.
Crafted from 100% grain and natural spirits, Zoya features delicate juniper and a blend of 12 botanicals, offering a fresh and distinctive finish. Ideal for sipping or mixing, Zoya invites enthusiasts to explore a unique combination of herbs, fruits, and spices.
As part of the premiumization trend in the Indian alcobev industry, ABD aims to capture the attention of younger, experimental consumers seeking indigenous experiences. Alok Gupta, Managing Director of ABD, expressed excitement about Zoya's launch, emphasizing its exceptional product experience and contribution to a higher-value portfolio.
The gin will debut in Gurgaon, followed by Maharashtra and other major Indian cities, with global availability planned. Priced at Rs. 2200 for a 750ml bottle in Maharashtra, Zoya represents ABD's entry into the curated luxury gin segment.
Focusing on Premium Spirits: ABDL's New Vertical 'PremBrands'
In addition to the gin launch, ABD has introduced a new business vertical called 'PremBrands,' focusing on premium offerings. The company's portfolio includes Officer's Choice, a globally bestselling whisky, and other successful brands like Sterling Reserve and ICONiQ White Whisky.
The move into premium spirits is part of ABD's strategy to tap into evolving consumer preferences and elevate its brand presence. The spirits market in India is witnessing rapid growth in the premiumization segment, particularly in the gin category. ABD aims to enhance its presence in this market by launching a new product every quarter in 2024, with Zoya as its flagship luxury offering.
While the company plans an IPO, the launch of Zoya signals ABD's commitment to innovation, high-quality products, and strategic growth in the evolving spirits landscape.
