Accor has marked a significant expansion in its Indian portfolio with the opening of Mercure Chandigarh Tribune Chowk in the Chandigarh capital region, which includes the cities of Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali. This new addition under the Mercure brand offers 60 well-appointed rooms and suites, tailored to meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers.
Located just 30 minutes from Chandigarh International Airport, Mercure Chandigarh Tribune Chowk boasts comprehensive banqueting facilities, making it an ideal venue for both social gatherings and business events. The Superior Suite, in particular, is designed to provide a conducive environment for hosting meetings and functions.
The hotel also features an all-day dining restaurant that offers a menu of authentic Indian dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients, ensuring guests enjoy fresh and flavorful meals throughout their stay.
Puneet Dhawan, Senior Vice President of Operations for Accor India and South Asia, expressed his enthusiasm about the new opening: “We are thrilled to welcome guests to Mercure Chandigarh Tribune Chowk, a vibrant addition to our Mercure portfolio. This hotel embodies our commitment to providing exceptional hospitality and creating memorable experiences for our guests.”
General Manager Ashish Battoo also commented on the launch, saying, “We are excited to introduce this new property to Chandigarh’s dynamic hospitality scene. Our team is dedicated to offering personalized service and ensuring every guest has a unique and enjoyable stay.”
This launch follows the successful opening of Novotel Chandigarh Tribune Chowk in 2021 and is a collaboration with KLG Group, Accor’s franchise partner in the region. Additionally, the hotel is part of the Accor Live Limitless (ALL) program, allowing guests to enjoy various benefits and exclusive services.
With plans to introduce six new hotels across different segments and three new luxury and lifestyle properties in India this year, Accor continues to strengthen its presence and commitment to the Indian market.
