In its latest consumer travel survey, Beyond, a leader in revenue management for short-term rentals, has unveiled critical insights into evolving traveler preferences. The study reveals a clear shift towards personalized amenities, eco-friendly options, and innovative use of AI in travel planning.
Julie Brinkman, CEO of Beyond, commented, “One thing remains true in our post-pandemic world: people want to travel - and now more than ever, travelers want to curate their trips to create unforgettable stays. Our insights provide a roadmap for hospitality businesses to enhance their revenue management, distribution, and marketing strategies, aligning with modern traveler demands.”
Key Findings from the Survey Include:
AI Adoption Gaining Ground: While 56.1% of respondents are hesitant about using AI for trip planning, 43.9% are open to it, signaling a gradual acceptance of AI in the travel industry.
Emerging Eco-Trends: Younger travelers, especially those aged 18-24, are increasingly interested in intimate, eco-friendly travel experiences, with 48.1% favoring smaller, more sustainable trips.
Booking and Trust: Transparency remains crucial, with 50.3% of respondents likely to lose trust in vacation rentals if misled by property listings. Privacy concerns persist, as 24.9% of guests have searched for hidden cameras in short-term rentals.
Personal Preferences and Amenities: A shift in travel dynamics is evident, with 63.8% of respondents preferring separate bedrooms when traveling with partners. Additionally, 53.2% of travelers expect poolside cocktails to enjoy summer vacations, underscoring the importance of tailored amenities.
Beyond’s Search-Powered Pricing solution, used in over 40 global markets, leverages real-time consumer search data to optimize pricing and distribution channels. This is particularly valuable in the current economic climate, where shorter booking windows and unpredictable revenue streams challenge travel companies.
