Air India and Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) have launched an integrated online duty-free shopping platform for international travellers. Integrated into Air India’s official website and mobile application, the new digital storefront allows passengers travelling through select Adani-operated airports to browse, pre-order and securely pay for duty-free merchandise before their journey.
Customers can collect their packaged purchases from designated duty-free counters at the airport. The new service is designed to bring duty-free shopping into the digital travel journey, giving passengers an option to complete their purchases before reaching the airport.
As part of the introductory launch, travellers can access savings of up to 25% on standard retail shelf prices across a range of categories. These include premium cosmetics and fragrances, luxury chocolates and confectionery, consumer electronics and luxury beverages. Customers can also combine the introductory savings with applicable bank offers and seasonal privileges.
The platform also connects duty-free purchases with Air India’s Maharaja Club loyalty programme. Members will automatically earn 3 Maharaja Points for every INR 100 spent on qualifying duty-free transactions, adding loyalty benefits to the online shopping experience.
The service is currently available for passengers travelling to and from airports with duty-free hubs in Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram. The eligibility also extends to customers travelling on codeshare itineraries, including flights operated by Air India Express.
The companies plan to expand the service to additional domestic and international gateways in subsequent phases.
The partnership brings together Air India’s digital customer ecosystem and Adani Airports’ airport retail expertise to create a more connected duty-free shopping experience. From browsing and pre-ordering to payment, airport collection and loyalty rewards, the platform brings multiple stages of the shopping journey together in one digital experience.
