Air India, India’s premier global airline, marked a significant milestone as its flagship A350-900 aircraft commenced non-stop operations between Delhi and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) on January 2, 2025. This follows the successful inauguration of A350 services on the Delhi-New York (JFK) route in November 2024.

With this addition, Air India now operates A350 aircraft on all non-stop flights between India’s capital and the New York region, offering travelers unparalleled comfort and innovation. The new interiors feature private suites in Business Class, a Premium Economy cabin, enhanced catering, award-winning inflight entertainment (IFE), and stylish serviceware, redefining the travel experience.

A Cinematic Journey Through NYC

To celebrate this achievement, Air India’s cabin crew embarked on a cinematic journey through New York City, recreating scenes from globally renowned Hollywood and Bollywood movies. Dressed in their chic Manish Malhotra-designed uniforms, they brought to life moments from iconic landmarks:

  • Rockefeller Plaza: Recreating the legendary Lunch Atop a Skyscraper photo, capturing the spirit of innovation.

A New Era of Indian Aviation

The Air India group, under Tata Sons since 2022, is undergoing a transformative journey through its Vihaan.AI program. With a fleet of over 300 aircraft and a record-breaking order of 470 new planes in 2023, the airline is modernizing its services, merging operations with sister airlines, and investing in state-of-the-art training and maintenance facilities.

Air India’s innovative efforts, such as its new A350 services and cinematic celebrations, highlight its commitment to redefining global aviation and bringing Indian excellence to the world.
