AirAsia Expands Connectivity: New Route from Thiruvananthapuram to Kuala Lumpur

AirAsia, a key player in the airline industry connecting India and Malaysia since 2008, is set to enhance its reach with the announcement of a new route from Thiruvananthapuram to Kuala Lumpur. Scheduled to commence operations on February 21, 2024, with a frequency of four flights per week, this marks the airline's second direct route from the state of Kerala and the ninth direct route from India to Malaysia.

Thiruvananthapuram, known for its rich history and cultural significance, will now be seamlessly connected to the vibrant capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. This new route is anticipated to attract diverse travelers eager to explore the architectural marvels, savor delectable local cuisine, and immerse themselves in the bustling markets of Kuala Lumpur.

Riad Asmat, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia, expressed excitement about strengthening the airline's presence in India, specifically in Thiruvananthapuram. He highlighted AirAsia's pivotal role in transforming travel landscapes, connecting millions of travelers affordably to Malaysia and beyond. With this new route, AirAsia is set to operate flights to a total of nine stunning destinations across India, from north to south, with a weekly total of 71 flights.

Manoj Dharmani, AirAsia Head of Regional Commercial (India), emphasized the milestone significance of this expansion, foreseeing strengthened cultural ties between Malaysia and India and the provision of unique travel experiences. To celebrate the upcoming launch and having flown 800 million guests since 2001, AirAsia is offering special launch fares starting from INR4,999, including complimentary 20kg check-in baggage. This offer is valid for travel between February 21, 2024, and March 19, 2025.
