Four Seasons Resorts Maldives is set to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse with a joyful week of Lunar New Year celebrations across its two island resorts, Landaa Giraavaru and Kuda Huraa. The festivities begin on February 16 and continue through February 24, 2026, bringing together cultural traditions, festive dining and island-style celebrations in a setting known for its natural beauty and relaxed luxury.
The Fire Horse is often associated with boldness, energy and fresh beginnings, and this spirit flows through every aspect of the celebrations. Guests can expect a thoughtfully curated mix of cultural experiences, family moments and festive gatherings that reflect the optimism and momentum of this rare zodiac year.
One of the key highlights is a culinary first for the Maldives. From February 16 to 23, 2026, Four Seasons Resorts Maldives will host an exclusive pop-up by Beijing’s Michelin-recognised Baiweiyuan Dumpling Restaurant at both Landaa Giraavaru and Kuda Huraa. Known for its comforting flavours and made-to-order dumplings, Baiweiyuan brings the warmth of Beijing’s food culture to the Indian Ocean. Guests can enjoy signature pork and chive dumplings, beef and onion fillings, and vegetarian favourites such as egg and tomato, along with cold starters including soy-braised pork trotter. Freshly rolled and cooked to order, the pop-up adds an authentic and celebratory touch to the Lunar New Year experience.
At Kuda Huraa, the Lunar New Year unfolds like a lively island festival from February 16 to 24, 2026. The celebrations begin with a Reunion Dinner at Café Huraa and continue through the week with themed dining evenings, outdoor cinema nights, a Pool Party and a Pop-Up Asian Market. Each event is designed to reflect the playful and spirited nature of the Fire Horse, offering guests a fresh experience every evening. Highlights include a Secret Beach BBQ under the stars, the Mediterranean Market at Reef Club and the Asian Buffet at Café Huraa. The Baiweiyuan dumpling pop-up will be available throughout the week, allowing guests to enjoy authentic flavours at any time.
Families are also at the heart of the celebrations at Kuda Huraa. The Kuda Mas Kids Club will host a two-week festival inspired by the Fire Horse’s sense of freedom and fun. Children can take part in activities such as lantern painting, snorkel adventures, arts and crafts, dumpling making, tie dye t-shirts, kids karaoke nights and beach games. The programme is designed to encourage creativity and confidence while ensuring younger guests enjoy the festive season just as much as adults.
Landaa Giraavaru will welcome the Lunar New Year with a special poolside celebration on February 16, 2026. From 7:00 to 10:30 pm, guests can gather by the main pool for an evening filled with colour, music and cultural performances. A Dragon Dance, live DJ and glowing lanterns set the festive mood, while a Yu Sheng prosperity toss invites abundance and good fortune for the year ahead. Live action food stations and culture-inspired welcome drinks add to the celebratory atmosphere, blending tradition with the island’s natural elegance. The Baiweiyuan dumpling pop-up will also be available throughout the week at Landaa, extending the culinary celebrations beyond the opening night.
Lunar New Year at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives is designed to bring people together in the spirit of connection, prosperity and shared joy. Whether celebrating with a Yu Sheng toss at Landaa Giraavaru or enjoying festive nights under lantern-lit skies at Kuda Huraa, guests are invited to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse through experiences that honour tradition while embracing the warmth and ease of island life.
