Monika Alcobev has secured its place at the forefront of India’s luxury spirits scene as the exclusive travel retail partner for Amrut Expedition, a historic single malt whisky from Amrut Distilleries. This rare 15-year-old expression is India’s oldest and most expensive whisky release to date, retailing at over USD 12,500 and limited to just 75 bottles globally.

Crafted with extraordinary precision, Amrut Expedition undergoes a unique two-stage maturation, spending eight years in European sherry casks before maturing for another seven years in American ex-bourbon casks. The result is a whisky of remarkable depth and refinement, embodying elegance and balance across every sip.

As the preferred global travel retail partner, Monika Alcobev will lead the debut of this collector’s release across high-visibility airport duty-free stores worldwide. In India, the rollout will span multiple airports, with only nine bottles made available, including a milestone allotment of three bottles to Bengaluru Duty Free at Kempegowda International Airport (BLR Airport). This strategic collaboration reinforces Monika Alcobev’s growing stature in premium spirits distribution and its commitment to curating world-class labels for discerning Indian and international travelers.

Rakshit N. Jagdale, Managing Director of Amrut Distilleries, remarked, “Amrut Expedition celebrates our 75-year legacy, rooted in craftsmanship, vision, and passion across three generations. Launching it via travel retail with Monika Alcobev ensures it reaches discerning global consumers who value authenticity and heritage.”

Kunal Patel, Managing Director of Monika Alcobev Limited, added, “Expedition is a truly rare release, one that showcases the finest in Indian whisky-making. At Monika Alcobev, we take pride in driving innovation and setting new benchmarks in the distribution of premium spirits.”

The whisky is presented in a meticulously crafted wood-and-metal case, accompanied by a silver peg measure, an authentication card, and an NFC chip for traceability. With a bold 62.8% ABV, its deep cola hue is complemented by aromas of sherried truffle, vanilla, and sandalwood. The palate reveals complex layers of chocolate-coated sherry, pepper, and dried fruits, leading to a long, elegant finish, as described by David Grady, Country General Manager, India, Avolta.

With its ultra-limited availability, record-setting price, and exquisite craftsmanship, Amrut Expedition is more than a whisky, it is a milestone in India’s alco-bev journey. And with Monika Alcobev steering its global travel retail launch, this release marks a defining chapter in positioning Indian single malts on the world stage.
