Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the virtual groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of three 7-star Oberoi Hotels in the state. These prestigious hotels will be located in Gandikota in YSR Kadapa district, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati.

The foundation stone ceremony in Gandikota follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Oberoi Group during the Global Investors Summit held in Visakhapatnam in March 2023. The MoU was exchanged between senior government officials and Vikram Oberoi, the Managing Director of the Oberoi Group, in the presence of the Chief Minister.

During the Bhoomi Puja ceremony, the Chief Minister expressed his belief that the establishment of these hotels would put Gandikota, known as the Grand Canyon of India, on the global tourism map. He stated that the hotels would, directly and indirectly, create employment opportunities for 500 to 800 individuals and contribute to the overall development of Gandikota. The Oberoi Hotel and Resort will act as an anchor to attract more projects to the region.

The introduction of the 7-star hotel facility will raise the global prominence of the YSR district, and the Chief Minister has requested Vikram Oberoi to explore the possibility of setting up a golf course in the area.

Vikram Oberoi, addressing the gathering, expressed his optimism that the hotel and resort facility in Gandikota would serve as an engine for economic growth and generate employment opportunities for the youth. Tirupati District Collector K. Venkataramana Reddy and Visakhapatnam District Collector Dr A. Mallikharjuna virtually interacted with the Chief Minister, providing details about the land and other facilities provided to the Oberoi Group for the construction of these hotels.
