Following the success of their inaugural world's longest cruise journey, which covered 25 river systems, 5 states, and 2 countries, Antara Ganga Vilas has announced shorter 3-4 day cruises for the upcoming September 2023 season. These new departures cater to travellers seeking immersive experiences without the need for an extended vacation.
Guests can select from a range of enriching sailing programs offered by Antara Ganga Vilas. The itineraries will take guests from Kolkata to Varanasi, passing through historically significant places like Murshidabad, Patna, and Buxar. A special itinerary offers a luxurious exploration of the ancient city of Varanasi, providing a unique perspective from the banks of the river Ganga. Additionally, shorter cruises from Kolkata to Dhaka will be available in spring 2024.
Raj Singh, the founding Chairman of Antara Cruises, explains, "We aim to offer guests a fulfilling sensory experience by immersing them in the stories of diverse cultures, the beauty of the river landscapes, and the signature services of Antara. We want guests to unpack only once and yet embark on a journey that captures the essence of the passing regions."
The cruises also provide specialized charters focusing on culture, cuisine, and textiles. Guests can enjoy regional delicacies like litti chokha from Bihar while sailing through Patna, or engage with Sheherwali cultures while passing through the historic capital of Murshidabad.
Annapurna Garimella, the designer and experienced curator, highlights the bespoke services and amenities offered onboard. Guests can expect top-notch facilities, including Forest Essentials toiletries, high-quality towels and bedsheets, and fresh ingredients sourced from the riverbanks. A curated selection of international and Indian films, music, and dance performances will further enhance the onboard experience. The ship's design also incorporates sustainability features such as onboard sewage and water treatment plants, dolphin deterrents, and the elimination of single-use plastics.
These new itineraries reflect the brand's commitment to contemporary cruising along ancient rivers, providing personalized services while embracing the concept of slow travel to uncover the secrets of waterways and shores.
