Atmosphere Core has announced the signing of its 10th resort in the Maldives, ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru An Atmosphere Hotel, Maldives, which is set to open in March 2027. Located in Kaafu Atoll, the 118-villa island retreat will be part of the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts brand and will be positioned under the ‘An Atmosphere Hotel’ sub-brand.

The resort will also be the first property under the ONE BANYAN series of co-branded island resorts in the Maldives. The concept brings together individual resort identities while allowing each property to retain its own character and independent feel.

Commenting on the announcement, Salil Panigrahi, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Atmosphere Core, said,

As demand for the Maldives continues to grow and diversify, we are seeing travellers seek stays that are luxurious yet tailored to their individual needs, and purchasing decisions increasingly shaped by the quality of experiences rather than amenities and services alone. With Amaraa Faru, we bring our brand ethos of ‘A New Experience Awaits’ to life, while also responding to this evolving demand. At this resort, guests can look forward to a lavish yet grounded sophistication inspired by the natural rhythm, culture and people of the islands.”

The name Amaraa Faru combines two cultural references. ‘Amaraa’ is inspired by the Sanskrit word associated with eternity or immortality, while ‘Faru’ means reef in Dhivehi, reflecting the resort’s connection with the ocean and marine life. Designed for today’s free-spirited explorer, ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru will focus on freedom and flexibility rather than overly formal luxury. The resort will be accessible through a 45-minute speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport and will be surrounded by wide lagoons in shades of blue and green.

Guests will have access to the signature Holiday Plan of Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, covering dining, wellness, snorkelling and other tropical activities. The resort will introduce a contemporary design inspired by the surrounding marine environment and traditional palm-leaf craftsmanship. Natural materials, locally influenced textures, Art Deco touches and eco-conscious finishes will come together in a palette of crème and soft greens.

The accommodation will include 118 beach and overwater villas, with sizes ranging from 100 m² standard beach villas to 164 m² family beach villas and 117 m² overwater villas. Each villa will feature a private pool, while indoor and outdoor spaces will connect guests with the island’s natural surroundings.

The culinary offering will include an all-day dining restaurant, a main pool bar and three speciality restaurants, featuring experiences ranging from Argentinian cuisine to Japanese dining in an overwater setting. Other facilities will include a kids’ club, ocean-view gym and fitness centre, dive and water sports centre, and a promenade-style retail space. The ELE|NA Ayur spa and wellness centre will feature overwater treatment rooms, a 40 m² saltwater pool, sauna and steam facilities.

Technology will also be integrated across the guest journey, supported by a service approach focused on creating a relaxed and elegant environment while retaining the warmth of Maldivian hospitality. In line with Atmosphere Core’s sustainability efforts, Amaraa Faru will incorporate solar energy solutions, water conservation systems and a no-plastics approach, including in-house glass water bottling.

Founded in 2013, Atmosphere Core currently has nine operational resorts across three brands in the Maldives, with two developments in the pipeline, including ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru. Its international presence also includes heritage hotels in India and Italy, with more than 20 upcoming properties planned across Europe and South Asia.
